Found Highway
In the summer of 2009 I drove across the country with my good buddy Don Sticksel in a rented Kia Spectra with video cameras on the hood, dashboard and even strapped to our bodies. The site is still live at Foundhighway.com and check out our photos on Flickr
We followed three rules:
1. Back roads only.
2. No Commercial Food Chains.
3. Camp whenever possible.
We updated the site from our phones. Slept in our car a few nights but I wouldn't change a thing. I saw more of America than I ever imagined I would. I had driven cross country before this trip but never on back roads like we saw on this trip.
Here is rough map of our route.
We used a phone to low jack our car so users could see where we were at every moment and to prove we were using just back roads. This map was also embedded on our site.
